Note - You MUST pre-register. There are several insurance systems someone living with HIV might interact with in Michigan - Medicaid, Healthy Michigan, MIDAP, Premium Assistance, Affordable Care Act (ACA / Obamacare), etc. This webinar will be an overview of the various insurance systems and what you will need to know as a person living with HIV or as a direct service worker assisting a person living with HIV. This webinar is being co-hosted by the Insurance Task Force which includes direct service workers from Ryan White agencies, MDHHS and the Detroit Health Department - Link-Up Detroit. Social Media Kickoff Event

We hope you can join us on Tuesday, October 15, 5:00 - 6:30pm for our Social Media Kickoff Event at Ruth Ellis Center, 77 Victor St, Highland Park.


Background: In July 2019 the Detroit Health Department HIV Program was awarded money for a two-year social media project to promote positive HIV care messages for young men who have sex with men (MSM) in Detroit. Lateef Hudson (Link-Up Detroit) will be leading a work group of 7-10 young MSM through a multi-month (Jan - Apr 2020) process of developing messages and themes for the campaign. The work group will select a media consultant who will design images and materials based off the work group's ideas.

What will happen at this meeting:

  1. Start the recruitment process for the work group (18 - 25 year old MSM living in Detroit)

  2. Get ideas for messages and themes (U=U, etc.)

  3. Have fun, share a delicious meal and increase awareness of the upcoming social media campaign (expected start summer 2020)

  • Raffles will be held at 5:30, 6:00 & 6:30pm - All attendees will receive a ticket upon entry
